Workers Hang From Building After Scaffold Collapse

HOUSTON – Two window washers dangled from their lifelines when their swing-stage scaffolding partially collapsed today at about 10:30 am at the tallest building in Texas, the JPMorgan Chasetower in downtown Houston.
The Houston Fire Department’s High-Angle Recue Team removed a pane of glass just above the 71st floor, where the men were suspended by their lifelines, about 1,000 feet up in the air. The men were pulled to safety with no injuries reported.
The cause of the incident is said to have been a faulty motor on the scaffolding according to officials.
