Crane Collapse Kills Construction Worker

One construction worker died and one was injured after a boom truck crane toppled over in Dallas. The incident occurred on Monday, April 24th in the 1700 block of Arts Plaza in downtown Dallas.

The Dallas Morning News reports the man who died was identified by the Dallas County Medical Examiner as 49-year-old Isidro Morales of Arlington, Texas.

Witnesses say the machine upended at about 3:00 pm and crushed Morales instantly. Three workers were on the site when the incident occurred, but it is not yet clear what it was they were attempting to do.

The crane operator was not injured, but aside from the fatality, one other worker incurred non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
